Well, hello again! A few of you mentioned how much you enjoy my blog or business centered posts, so I figured I’d share more of what I’ve learned! Like I’ve mentioned before, the blogging world is pretty saturated. How do you make sure you stand out against the competition? It all comes down to your personal brand and how you market yourself.
I started my blog because I wanted to do photo shoots in cool, new places like Coney Island. Kidding! Well, only slightly. (BTW, shout out to one of my favorite photographers, Cassidy Hopkins for these amazing shots! Check out our other Coney Island photo shoot here).
I started my blog because I was tired of saying, “Why can’t I do that?” I followed multiple blogger accounts for years and wistfully dreamed I could have a similar career. In a way, I’ve been a blogger for a while now. I always love sharing my thoughts on twitter about red carpet faux-pas while also snapping the occasional #ootd photo on Instagram. As I started researching fashion blogging more, I saw that not only was there a lack of women of color, but also women who exhibited my same sense of style. I started blogging 2 years ago and haven’t looked back since! If you’re on the fence, it’s time to stop making excuses.
If you follow me on the ‘gram, then you know there’s no shortage of pink outfits in my closet! My 8-year-old tomboy self would be gagging if she knew what I’d become. There’s definitely no shame in my colorful game! After scouring the city for pops of color, I stumbled across photos from the Coney Island Boardwalk and immediately added it to my New York City bucket list. My friends Hannah Goldstein (fellow blogger) and Cassidy Hopkins (my kick-ass photographer) joined for a full day of fun in the sun. I can’t wait to share the rest of the photos! Even though it took me close to 2 hours to get there, it was definitely worth it!
