Charming Charleston

While I had to work for a majority of the break, I was able to convince my boyfriend to take me to a city I’ve always wanted to visit: Charleston! My Pinterest travel board was at one point filled with photographs of their historic district, so I knew I had to visit such a charming town. The buildings were beautiful and the weather was in the 70’s the entire time! Needless to say, I had a great time. Here are a few photos from my trip, daily outfits, and restaurants that you MUST visit if you get the chance to go!

Day 1: Arrive in Charleston

Right when we drove into the city I immediately wanted to go explore. I made sure to have some comfy shoes for walking like these white shoes I’m currently crushing on and a dress perfectly suited for the warm weather. We rushed downtown and just happened to be there during golden hour. Naturally, we took pictures of everything! Rainbow Row (a street with houses/buildings all different colors) was so pretty against the sunset. I’m pretty sure this town is exactly what everyone on HGTV means when they say they want something with “character”.

Day 2:

Outfit Details:

Dress: Brandy Melville (sold out) || Gladiator Sandals: GC Shoes for DSW || Sunglasses: Target || Bracelet: Francesca’s (similar) || Cross-body bag: Old Navy (similar)

Day 2 consisted of touring the College of Charleston and shopping! I’m looking for places for grad school and thought I’d stop by while I was in town. It was so much fun to be on this side of the tours because I’m a student recruiter at Auburn! It made me feel like a high school student again instead of the old person I’m slowly becoming (goodbye, sweet youth).

Afterwards, we walked over to King Street (strutting in my gladiator sandals) for some food from Kickin’ Chicken and shopping! Did I mention it was Charleston Fashion Week? Everyone put out their BEST apparel including the new opening of the Lilly Pulitzer store! If you follow me on snapchat, you probably saw me geek out over everything pink. I jumped in the Lilly jeep that was parked right in front and almost drove it straight to the beach! I settled for a picture instead.

Day 3:

Outfit Details:

Swimsuit Top/Bottom: Target || Cover-Up: Old Navy ||Sunglasses: The Mint Julep || Wedges: Charles David

On my third and final day, we finally got to go to the beach! However, I’m mad because the day before was sunny without a cloud in the sky and our beach day was filled with them, but we still made the best of it! We traveled from the peninsula of Charleston to  Folly Beach and spent the day by the ocean. I loved my new swimsuit from Target and sipping my San Pelligrino (c/o Palm Avenue Charleston) and rum punch while lazing on the sand. The cover-up from Old Navy looked better in the store I will say. It doesn’t really do anything for anyone’s shape and I’ll definitely try to find another one before the summer!

We ended the day eating at the only restaurant in Charleston with an ocean view:

Fleet Landing. It was originally Navy barracks and today is one of the most talked about restaurants in the city. If you visit, you need to prepare your mind, body, and soul for their biscuits and homemade honey butter. This southern-style seafood house gets 5 stars from me! Will got the shrimp and grits and I chose jumbo shrimp. Needless to say, it was the perfect meal to end the perfect trip.

Such beautiful photos! I love Charleston, but I haven’t been in several years. My husband has never been, so now that we’re in Georgia, I hope we can take a three-day weekend there sometime this year. Your outfits are SO cute, and I’m totes jealous of the Lilly jeep picture!

  4. Ah! I’m so glad you loved your visit to Charleston (how could anyone not love it there?) My husband and I honeymooned in Savannah, but drove up to explore Charleston for a day and actually ate at Fleet Landing on our night there and it was as delicious as you described it!
